Tae Kwon Do after-school and evening programs are being offered for youth and adults alike in a safe, fun-filled environment at Church of the Open Bible (290 19th Ave. NE, Swift Current).
World-wide, there are currently over 20 million people in 140 countries participating in Tae Kwon Do. Of these, 40 per cent of participants are children between the ages of 7 and 14. The after-school program delivers healthy exercise while teaching valuable Bible-based life lessons and tenants for youth ages 6 to 12.
Not to be left out or outdone, the evening program caters to youth and adults ages 13 and up. Here, you will be challenged physically through an intense exercise regime and mentally through the study of biblical principles.
The classes’ core curriculum is Tae Kwon Do following the traditional kwan (school) of CHUNG DO KWAN, the oldest and most original form of Tae Kwon Do. You will be challenged to apply the concepts you learn each week in classes to your daily lives. Some examples of traits emphasized are: respect, self-control, discipline, courage and honesty. A focus is also placed on life skills such as good habits, proper attitudes and manners.
The After-School program takes place on Mondays and Fridays from 4-5 p.m. (doors open at 3:30) for youth ages 6 to 12. This is has been changed from what was published in the Leisure Guide! The Evening program takes place on Mondays and Fridays from 6-7 p.m. (doors open at 5:30) for individuals ages 6 and up. The cost is $40 per month and the programs run from September to July. You can join any time!
